elcome to my little neighborhood establishment. As you can guess buy the name, the concept for this site was imagined in a drinking establishment while sitting on that very piece of furniture. (No jokes about where my brains may be located please.) It originally was conceived as a way to promote my ideas for comic books, media, etc. and as a way for me to write my thoughts about what was going on in the world in general. My website has gone through a good deal of change since it's start.

One of the biggest changes was my move toward a webcomic. I had originally started publishing Bagboy as a once a week, then twice a week comic. It went for 2 years and was a learning experience. Unfortunately, it did not go the way I had wanted it to, so I shifted focus to the new concept Shots!. The Shots! concept is more inline with my previous idea for the website, as well as more free form. I can do anything I want, even something goofy off the top of my head or I can do a long story line based on various ideas I wanted to promote or work on. They also can be any page size, not just a comic strip size.

I had always wanted to do something in comic books since I was a child wether it was as an artist or writer. I spent many an hour looking at comic books. Superboy and the Legion of Superheros, Batman, and Superman all were absorbed by my young mind, even if I didn't understand the words too well. When I was old enough to understand those words, I stopped reading for a while. I was 11 or 12 when I began again and seriously started collecting, my enthusiasm and desire to work in comics was renewed. G.I. Joe a Real American Hero was the comic that started my fascination again. Soon I was reading ElfQuest and Alien Legion and from there onto Marvel and other DC titles.

Through high school and college I kept up on my reading and drawing. I played role-playing games, so some of the adventures became fodder for story ideas. I developed ideas and characters, some of which are still around today. Most ended up sacrificed to the garbage can.

Eventually I would bring together enough ideas and sketches to try and pitch them to several publishers. I went around to them at Chicago Comic Book Convention and did my best to sell. One person who worked for a major publisher told me I had a lot of great ideas, but companies are not interested in producing universes from unknown talents. She said "self publish".

Thus my quest to actually publish or produce something in comic books started. After many false starts and heartbreaking attempts, I was becoming discouraged. Then this thing called the internet happened. It made publishing, producing and marketing very fast, easy and cost effective. Especially for someone on a very tight budget.
